They keep my clothes from sliding off without having to jam part of the material into the little grooves that plastic hangers always have. I bought 50 of them but I grossly underestimated how much stuff I have to hang! So I just ordered 100 more. I wish they came in packs of 50 rather than packs of 10 only. The only thing I would change about the hangers would be making the color more vibrant. They're a little dull and I was hoping they'd be more of a lavender color...they have a purple tint but it just isn't vibrant enough for my liking.
